Where at least I eat for free! Yep, that's right, I am shamelessly taking advantage of any and all freebies today. I love election day. It feels like a holiday to me. And since I've caught wind of many fine food establishments jumping on board with free give-aways to anyone with a voting sticker; I have decided to eat my way through the day (please don't tell my Weight Watcher's leader.) So for lunch the kids and I headed to Chic-fil-A for my free chicken sandwich. They even threw in the "two crucial pickles." After naps, we just may head over to Starbucks for a free cup 'o joe. And if I can convince Steve, there might be a star shaped Krispie Kreme doughnut for dessert tonight. Sounds glutinous, doesn't it? America ain't the fattest nation in the world for nothin!
Oh yeah, and about that voting thing... well I did my patriotic privilege and cast my ballot. And just in case you and I don't see eye to eye on politics, I'm keeping my vote to myself (at least on this blog!) but there is something to be said for firmly believing in a Sovereign God- regardless of who comes out ahead tonight. (But you may venture a guess. I don't think it would be a shocker to anyone who knows me.) I have to say, after living in a communist country for three year, I really do appreciate our right to vote. It is a major blessing and one that I do not take lightly. And I really enjoyed getting to take the kids with me. All O cared about were the Princess fruit snacks she got to eat while I voted, but irregardless, I hope they see the example Steve and I try and put before them (someday!)
And in case you are wondering what is so interesting off in the distance that has captured BOTH of their attention... here it is. A bull dozer moving some dirt. I tried for about 3 minutes to get their attention. A mommy just can't compete with heavy machinery.

(And by the way, my voting line, in Ohio-- 3 people= 12 minutes. There really are some advantages to being a stay at home mom and getting to vote at 10:22 am.)

When you vote both early and by mail you get no sticker, hence no star shaped Krispy Cream. I'm glad you are following in the steps of your Daddy & choose not to disclose to anyone the results of your secret ballot.
hilarious! i think we were voting at the exact same time! I left the kids at my sis-in-law's though and stayed with her kids while she voted also. NO WAY was I taking SOPHIE to the polls!! I have taken Joshua before though!
Herman called me on my way home from work and was all "You can stop at Ben and Jerry's and get free ice cream! Then stop at Crispy Creme and get a free donut!"
I went to the gym instead. And told my husband to stop tempting me. Especially since my goal this week is to work out once a day.
You're way ahead of me in the fitness game so I think you totally deserve to have a day of taking advantage of free food!
