As it turns out....

I did manage to screw up my CVS run. As I was sitting at my Weight Watchers meeting waiting for it to start, I reviewed my receipt (in order to pat myself on the back) when lo and behold-- there it was. The big fat mistake I should have known would be there.

This is where my rookie-ness really shines. Somehow, almost every time I do this, I grab the wrong size of something that throws off my plan. There was a Huggies deal this week (spend $20 on CERTAIN Huggies products, get 5 ecb's back.) Including body wash, wipes and certain count diapers. I had some great coupons for all of it. Except I bought the wrong count diapers. Dang it! Instead of grabbing the $10 pack- and counting toward my $20 total for the ecb deal, I bought the $17 pack that DID NOT count toward the deal. Therefore, costing me an extra $7 and NOT resulting in my 5 ecbs. Sheesh.

So, I gotta go back tomorrow with my tail between my legs- again, take back the $17 diapers, trade 'em in for the $10 pack and hopefully walk out with my 5 ecbs. There is also a razor I'm after that hits the shelves tomorrow afternoon. (silly!)

Deal experts- how long will it take before I stop making these lame-o mistakes? Is there hope? Tune in tomorrow for the rest of the story!

You are cracking me up!! I was at CVS yesterday and thought of you. Though you would have been disappointed in me, no coupons in hand, really just went in there needing some cottonballs (for the pre-school) and bread and not wanting to make a big Kroger trip with Kirsten. I just love how easily you can get in and out of CVS. Maybe if I study your moves, I too, will learn how to properly CVS. I have so much to learn....

There is hope! We all do it once in awhile, though...and make the walk of shame back in. No harm in returning it though and getting the right thing, especially since you are building a nice rapport with your CVS cashier!! One thing I try to do is look at the price as it comes up on the little screen when they scan stuff - if I know how much the correct item is supposed to cost, I will usually catch it if I see it rings up differently than what I was expecting. Does that makes sense? You still did great! I am going to go tomorrow morning as I have a babysitter, and HOPE they have those dang razors in a few hours early!

Ok - I went to CVS this morning - did the Pepsi deal and ended up 33 cents short!! had to go back in and buy a Gatorade to get my ECB. So, see, it happens to the best of us! Got my razor, though. :)
