Steve got "buzzed" that he could finally go be with Elizabeth shortly after 3:30. He is very thankful that the doctor felt he got all the cancer and there wasn't any attached to other organs that would have required future surgeries. Please join us in praising God for that, and for the fact that He is still on His throne, still in control and that He loves E more than any of us can comprehend.
I know from past experiences that some of you may be feeling helpless and wish you can do more than just pray. As one of E's friends said on facebook the other day - its not "just" what you can do, its the best thing you can do. And please know there will be things to help with in other ways in the weeks and months to come (so if you offer help now, don't be surprised when you are taken up on it in March or April! :)
I know E will appreciate all the thoughtful comments as well when she is able to read them. Pretty awesome to see those who have only today come across this site and yet are praying for her!
Standing with you in prayer for Elizabeth.

My sister Erin Wellman forwarded your blog on to me and asked me to pray. I woke up at 5:30 this morning and began praying for E! I will continue to do so!! May E have a fast recovery from this surgery, may treatment be successful, and may you all be at peace knowing that the God of our universe has His eye on YOU! We will continue to bombard Heaven's throne to boldly ask God to heal E--and I'm already thanking Him for the fact that He will do it! Much love to you all!--Abby Wooldridge

My daughter sent this to me today because she recognized Dr Reid's name. I am also an Ovarian Cancer Survivor. My surgery with Dr Reid was Feb 12, 2010. I speak to medical students and nursing students on "awareness" of this disease since it is so hard to diagnose. I would be happy to talk with E or your family on my experience with surgery (I had 10" of my colon removed) and chemo. Faith, family and friends have gotten me where I am today!

My name is Lisa Laveck Schlomer. I went to high school with Steve. A mutual friend contacted me to share with me what you are facing and asked if I would try to contact you. I have been in the cancer fight since April 2010 and finished chemotherapy back in September. In addition to constant prayer, it was a great help to me to talk to a person who also walked the cancer journey. I would like to offer myself to you twenty four hours a day as an ear to bend. Feel free to call me morning, noon, or night. I dont care if it is two in the morning and you just can't sleep. My home numbers is 513-471-6162. My cell is 513-403-0968 and my office line is 513-467-7113. I am here if you need to talk (Steve too). Email: Schlomer.lisa@gmail.com May God bless and keep you both.

Please tell my cousin Elizabeth that the Russian Orthodox Church in Kodiak Alaska has added her to their prayer circle. Please tell her that because her cousin is involved the prayers will be for "Edie." Tell Edie I love her and Elin and I are on her side!

Dear Jesus, I ask You boldly to heal Elizabeth completely of this cancer. You are the GREAT I AM and this is not too big for you! We don't understand why this is happening, but we know that we can approach You confidently and ask for her healing. So, in Your powerful, awesome, mighty name, Jesus, I pray these things, believing You can do them. Thy will be done, O God. May Your name be glorified because of the great things You will do through this. Pour out comfort and an abiding peace on Elizabeth and Steve right now in this moment. Surround their children with laughter and love in these coming weeks. O God, please heal Elizabeth. In JESUS name. Amen.

Wow, E, I am amazed at all of the people reaching out to you who don't even know you. Between the blog and facebook and of course, all of the friends and family you have, you have quite a network of support. This is a sucky situation, but it must be somewhat comforting knowing that so many people are praying for you and are there for you when you need them. I just want you to know that I'm thinking about you, praying for you and your family. It's hard to know what to even say right now, but I'm here for you and am a very good listener. I wonder if there's an episode of Degrassi that would help us right now...ha ha ha.
