Now what?

I've got 2/3 of round five behind me. As far as my *treasure hunt* goes, it's been a pretty good week. It helped that the American Idol finale was last night. Crazy storms swept through Dayton and happily for me, we were on the north side of the storms. We had a bit of rain and thunder but that was about it. Sadly, two of my fun friends who text with me through the show lost power. Can you even imagine? Hmph.

Back in January when the season started, I didn't know if I would be able to watch the season with out my mom. And then cancer struck. And then the judges disappointed me, as did all of the inappropriateness on the results nights. But I'm nothing if not faithful. And in the end, I have to say that I'm happy to call Scotty my new American Idol. I hope he has a better career than my past three Idols. In fact, I'm not sure we even heard from Lee this season on the show (can anyone confirm that for me?) It's weird how being the Idol doesn't mean much.

But I did appreciate how gracious of a winner he was last night. I hope *fame* doesn't turn his path. Time will tell.

I'm not much of a sport fan. But I think this is what it must feel like the Monday after the Super Bowl. Now what to do? What to watch? What to talk about? (Because a girl can not live on cancer posts alone!) I am ashamed to say I did tune in to the Bachelorette on Monday. I said I wouldn't. Ashley isn't too interesting to me, but some friends watch... so I will too. (Oh the peer pressure.) Last summer I got into Big Brother (can you even believe I admit to this trash?) Does anyone else have another show that I can get into? In summers past I've tried "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Outta Here" and "Japanese Game Show." So, as you can see, I'm willing to try anything. Except a dance show. I just can't seem to get into the dance shows.

I'm looking forward to Memorial Day weekend. Maybe a cookout? Maybe the outdoor pool? I love the *unofficial kickoff to summer.* Chemo is delayed until Tuesday because of the holiday. After Tuesday there's ONE MORE ROUND. Thanks for praying me to this end. It's so close I can almost taste it! One day at a time, kids, one day at a time.

We enjoy America's Got Talent during the summer. I don't watch much and in the last 2 weeks have been watching the season finales of all of what I watch after kids go to bed....now may be I will feel slightly more motivated to do things like pick up my house in the evening!

Lee did sing, somewhere along the way, and it reminded me how much I like his voice. Glad to hear you've found some treasures along the way this week.

there's some new show coming out, sort of a Survivor/Amazing Race combo thing. Teams of two and they travel the world doing all sorts of crazy stuff. the promos show a camel kicking one of them in the behind...that looks kind of fun!

You gotta give the dance shows a try! :) It's my fav to watch with my best girl friend!

Yeah, Lee did perform earlier this season but I was hopeful he'd sing for the finale. I actually did some "investigating" and found out he was in the audience and was approached last minute to help crown the winner but he declined. I have that same letdown feeling you have. Not only did I follow AI, I also watched DWTS and Celebrity Apprentice (funny, I know, but I got sucked in from the start when I saw the list of celebrities: Star Jones, Gary Busey, Meat Loaf, to name a few....knew it would be entertaining and it did not disappoint!) this year, all of which ended this week. My dvr is nearly empty. I do have a few Glee episodes in
there but I haven't gotten as into that show. Guess I like
my reality and sitcoms better! I have told myself all season I will get back into working out and organizing my basement once the finales were all finished. Gulp. Guess my time has come!

We are all about watching TV series in the summer. We've watched Big Love, Mad Men, Breaking Bad (had to stop... just TOO depressing!!). This summer, seems we can only handle lighter fare... Victor has gotten us started on Parks and Rec (is that even the title??) with Amy Poehler. I'm not a full fan yet, but he loves it. I'm slow to warm up to quirky comedy. Elena and I are also watching Glee, Season 1. It definitely takes parental supervision/discussion and fast-forwarding some stuff that is too provocative, but I think you might really like it. The singing is fantastic!

My kids and I love to watch America's Got Talent together in the summer -- some of it is SOOOO bad, it's hilarious, and some are truly talented! Give it a try!
Glad your chemo's coming to and end, and thankful that your perspective of mining for treasure is keeping your eye on the prize! Praying you have a great weekend -- this Ohio weather is sure helping, for once! -- and that your last round goes smoothly and effectively! Die, cancer cells, Die!

Oh girl, I got suckered into the Bachlorette too! It makes me so mad! I do LOVE Sister Wives and So You Think You Can Dance.

I always liked watching "army wives" in the summer- on lifetime. I got into it 1st season when my sister was a new army wife except I missed most of last seasons now i'm behind. I guess it's in season 4 or 5 now. Break out beyond the reality shows is my tip. And.... If you don't have Netflix, consider it. Streaming episodes of the Cosby show!!!! Love it!!!
